Summer is coming! And with it I'm getting back into the swing of writing, editing, and working on my online presence.
One major change that I've recently made is a new website! Thanks for following me this long. I will now permanently be at jchristopherearl.com. Weebly's been good for me to this point, but I think I'm ready to make a more professional step. I hope to see you over there! This website will still be available, but no longer updated. Please check the new site for all current information.

Sometimes, when the mood is just right and I find a little bit of time, an idea comes to me that I just can't let go of. A few seconds later I'm at my keyboard tapping away, and an hour or two after that, there's a rough sketch of a story.
Perhaps I should be working on Averelia, but with so many worlds bouncing around in my head, it's occasionally quite difficult to concentrate. Sometimes I just need to let them out to play. If you would like to read the latest stories, check out my Serials & Short Stories page, and don't forget to let me know what you think of them in the comments! I've just added part one of a new story over there. I've enjoyed writing it to this point, and I hope you enjoy reading it as well! Thanks for Reading! -J. Christopher Earl As I was working on the sequel to The Light Whispered, I realized I would need to make a cover for it, and I returned to the cover of my first book for ideas. I found none. In fact I was not inspired by or terribly interested in that cover at all. Having already published it, I shook my head and wondered if it was too late... No. No it was not. That said, I spent the next several days getting ideas, sketching in class, (While still listening!) and throwing things together in PhotoShop. I'm rather pleased with the result. And, because the whole purpose of this expedition was to create a cover for the sequel, here's that too. Let me know what you think in the comments! This cover will be official in the next several days. Once again, those with eBooks can automatically update, those who've already purchased a physical edition of the book can send me a message if they would like a free eBook, and new paperbacks should be ready to roll out soon. -J. Christopher Earl Except for the Paperback edition available through Amazon.com, all updates to The Light Whispered are now live.
Amazon.com should be up and running in 3 days or less, but if you don't want to wait to order a Paperback edition (Or You Just Want a $2 discount!) You can order it through the direct purchase link on my Buy Books page. Click Here to go to the Buy Books page. Thanks for understanding! And once again, if you already purchased an unedited paperback copy of the book, let me know and I will work with you to correct the situation. -J. Christopher Earl Catastrophe -mostly- averted! My apologies to the 7 people who have purchased print editions of The Light Whispered already. It was truly a rookie mistake, but I suppose I am a rookie after all. Still, once again, if you feel any of the grammatical mistakes in the old edition are simply too much, let me know and I will do what I can to make it right. If you have purchased an unedited print copy already, and would appreciate a free eBook, please get in touch with me through the contact form on this website.
The Kindle edition also went through some upgrades, and should now have a functioning table of contents and much better formatting. The map, I realized, was an old copy that contained a few mistakes, and has also been updated slightly. The updated editions should be available within 24 hours, so, check back tomorrow evening if you are still looking to purchase a copy of the book. Amazon.com may take several days to have the updated edition, so please purchase directly from CreateSpace, the site I am publishing from. Link to My Books : BUY BOOKS Direct Link to Purchase Book : https://www.createspace.com/6542758 Ok, take a deep breath, this isn't that bad, right? As I'm reading through my own copy of The Light Whispered I am finding several small mistakes and minor changes that I feel would make the book a smoother read.
For this reason, I am going to be updating the book relatively soon in order to amend these issues. If you have already purchased a physical copy of the book, you may find some of these issues as well. These are mainly small issues with punctuation and a few minor formatting issues here and there. The story itself and a vast majority of the text is in its final form and is entirely readable. If you have purchased a book already and feel that these mistakes have dampened your reading experience, please contact me through the form on this website and I will do my best to make it right. Who knows, maybe in fifty years the few editions that have already been printed, mistakes and all, will be worth something to some rare-edition book collector out there. -J. Christopher Earl I mean... Self-published! With my current college budget I cannot afford a personal agent who would assist with all the publishing and advertising and what not, so I have had to do a lot of that technical work myself, but at the moment I think this will do for now. The point is, you can now officially read my first book!
If you would like to order a paperback copy, you can do that here! https://www.createspace.com/6542758 If you're looking for a Kindle copy (Only $2.50!) It should be ready to roll out by tonight. I'll post a link as soon as possible. Also, through the Amazon matchBook program, if you buy the paperback, the Kindle edition is only 99 cents! Thanks for the support everyone, and remember, book two will be coming out this time next year! -J. Christopher Earl I am still playing with the titles for these two books, as they were previously one, and I'm not entirely sure where they will land. So far everything is going well with editing and printing. I will be publishing through Amazon Kindle, and, hopefully soon, through the Amazon Marketplace for a paperback copy of the book.
Also, as of now, the pledge page has closed. Thank you to those who did pledge! You will receive your prizes soon. - J. Christopher Earl One week from today I intend to release A Tale of Light, the first book of the Averelia series! As a special 2 week promotional, an e-book format of the book will be available for only $2.50.
Hopefully, within a few weeks, I will be able to release a paper-back edition of the first book as well. Because of some time constraints, (Marriage, Class Beginning, Student Leadership Training, Etc.) I was only able to write about half of the book I originally intended. However, I plan to continue writing over the next year and will hopefully have a finished copy of the next book - The Dance of Shadows - available in June of 2017. Check back in a week to get your copy, and don't forget to follow this blog on facebook if you would like continuing updates! -J. Christopher Earl The last two months of writing are here, and starting today I will be making Light and Shadow: A Tale of Averelia available in a chapter-by-chapter format. I'll be spending the next one to two months finalizing the book, and as chapters are finished I will send them out to all those interested in reading them. Of course - there's a slight catch. Writing takes time. With my current job-situation I have a somewhat flexible schedule and can set my own writing schedule, but I still need to put bread on the table for my wife and myself - I hope you can understand. If I can earn enough cash through writing, I can spend more of my time on finalizing and polishing my book and less time at work! Still, I have no delusions of grandeur, and I understand that money is tight and books are a luxury. So, here's the deal I'm willing to make. If you go over to the donate page and make a donation of at least $2.50 I will add you to the mailing list that will receive chapter-by-chapter updates - that's a full copy of the final draft of my book for only $2.50! But wait! There's more! For every 25 people who make a donation of at least $2.50, I will give away a copy of the final draft of the book in signed paper-back format to a random person on the chapter-by-chapter mailing list. You could get the final copy of the book for only $2.50! And that's not all! If you don't have $2.50 to spare, but you still want in on the deal, like and share my Facebook post for a chance to be put on the list as well! For every 20 shares, I'll add one person to the list! And! If you have a little more than $2.50, I have a deal for you as well! The single highest donation above $2.50 will receive a signed paper-back copy of the novel as well. In the event of a tie, a winner will be picked at random. Take a chance! These next two months are going to be crazy! I hope you decide to spend a few hours of them with me in Averelia! -J.
